​Kelsey Martin is an actress and animal trainer.  She holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Lees-McRae College with a minor in Psychology, an A.S. degree in Musical Theatre from Florida School of the Arts.

She has always had a natural talent for training animals.  The vast majority of her childhood was spent on the back of a horse, rescuing stray cats, and/or training her little Dachshund mix, Sasha, agility and all kinds of fun tricks.

In 2017, Kelsey’s love for theater and training animals was combined when she was asked to train dogs for a regional production of Legally Blonde the Musical.  Already a cast member in the ensemble, she agreed to train the dogs.  The experience sparked an amazing career shift.  She spent two years working as an obedience trainer at Petco where she trained dogs into well-behaved and balanced dogs for their owners.  She also taught several AKC Canine Good Citizen classes.

Kelsey trained and wrangled dogs for live regional productions of The Wiz, The Pajama Game, Legally Blonde the Musical and a collegiate production of Legally Blonde the Musical. One of her most experienced performance dogs, Chloe Belle Rose CGC, is due to appear in an HBO series airing Spring 2020.

Kelsey also has over 20 years’ experience working with and riding horses, and has a vast knowledge and experience with exotic animals as well.
