TERMS AND AGREEMENTS

1. To request an animal actor/model, an individual (hereinafter referred to as “representative”) must be the Director, Producer, Event Coordinator, or authorized person to make decisions for said respective company (hereinafter referred to as “Company), in order to secure services of STAR K9, LLC (hereinafter referred to as “STAR K9) to provide animal talent for a photo, film and commercial productions or events.

2. A representative from the Company must provide in writing, by completing a Production Request Form or via STAR K9 email, before any services or animal talent can be provided.

3. The Company, by submitting a production request is requesting (not contracting) the services of STAR K9 to provide a selection of animal talent based on looks, breed and talent abilities to complete the production or event requirements.  Additional services may include, but are not limited to, an "Animal Trainer/Wrangler", “Technical Advisor”, “Consultant” or other services deemed necessary for the production or event to work with animal talent or the Company’s current animal talent.

4. Animal talent fees are set according to the task requested of the animal talent, number of trainers/wranglers and other necessary expenses. These include, but are not limited to, the number of days animal talent is needed, travel, accommodations and insurance Said animal talent fees are the responsibility of the Company.

5. Trainer/Wrangler fees are based either hourly or as a daily flat rate and are the responsibility of the Company.

6. The owner of the animal talent represented by STAR K9 has permitted STAR K9 to be in control of the animal’s care, health and security while under contract for a production or event.

7. STAR K9 will provide animal trainers/wranglers necessary to ensure the care, health and security of animal talent entrusted to STAR K9 by the animal’s owner; therefore, STAR K9 has the final decision concerning the animal talent's capabilities.  STAR K9 will not force an animal do what it is not capable of or it does not desire to do, over the desires of a production or event.

8. Payment fees for animal talent, trainers/wranglers for any production or events will be the responsibility of the Company contracting with STAR K9 staff.  Said fees are due upon completion of the trainer/wrangler and animal talent's duties for that production.

9. Trainers/Wranglers being given the responsibility and permission by the owner to ensure the care and safety of the animal’s talent(s) involved in any production; has the right without loss of normal pay, fees or reimbursements from the Company, to deny any production requests that would put an animal talent in harm’s way or danger, or cause a withdrawal of the animal talent from the production due to illness or injury.

10. Production scripts or story boards should be supplied whenever possible to ensure the duties of the trainer/wranglers, and requirements of animal talent for the production are able to be performed accurately.

11. Animal talent must be licensed with the USDA before they can be involved in any production.  It is the responsibility of STAR K9 to ensure and complete documentation for each production. Additional licensing requirements, if applicable, will the responsibility of the Company. 

 

ANIMAL ACTOR/MODEL AGREEMENT

1. The owner's written permission to care for the safety and well-being of their animal as an animal actor/model for film, television, movie or print productions or for an event; was given upon registering their animal as an actor/model with STAR K9; therefore all animal actors/models registered with STAR K9 are under the care and control of a professional trainer/wrangler on set, at events or on production locations.  Written permission to use an owner’s animal in any production will be supplied to the Company by STAR K9 before working with a production or any live event.

2. Upon request a copy of the animal’s USDA license or letter of exemption will be provided to the Company or event coordinator of a production for presentation to the American Humane Society should any of their representatives be on location.

3. Animal photos and animal information will be available for Directors, Producers, and Talent Agencies through STAR K9 website and linked to the STAR K9 Facebook page and/or STAR K9 Linkedin page for viewing of each animal’s information.  All photos displayed on STAR K9 website, STAR K9 Facebook page and STAR K9 Linkedin page are the property of STAR K9, and cannot be copied, manipulated or used for any commercial event/production, media event/production, advertising, marketing, or public display without the express authorization of STAR K9.

4. Some productions require additional insurance for animal talent and the American Humane Society present during the production.  STAR K9 as a business will secure its own insurance for specifics according to our business criteria and operations; therefore, any additional insurance requirements will be the responsibility of the contracting Company.

5. If the Company requires the American Humane Society to be on set it is the responsibility of the Company to ensure they make these arrangements.  STAR K9 will assist the Company in procuring the American Humane Society if required for their production.

6. The animal trainer/wrangler is required, without exception, to attend all production meetings (either in person or online chat, i.e., Skype) relating to the involvement and actions requested/required, directly or indirectly of animal talent.  STAR K9 shall be given allotted time to communicate and direct animal talent accordingly.

7. The animal trainer/wrangler has the right to withdraw from any production or live event, at any time during such event, without loss of wage or monies owed to the animal talent or STAR K9, should the animal trainer/wrangler find the treatment or the safety of the animal talent is at risk; or the animal talent is sick/ injured and cannot continue or complete the production.  No legal action or recourse against STAR K9 its employees, clients or affiliates can be taken for the withdrawal of animal talent from a production under these circumstances.

Unless permission is given in writing by STAR K9 and all person's whose animals are displayed in the photograph requested and pays royalty fees to STAR K9 for the use of our pictures or photographs.

Your linking to any other site is entirely at your own risk.  STAR K9 disclaims all warranties, express and implied, as to the accuracy, validity, legality, or otherwise of any materials or information contained on such sites.

8. STAR K9 may at any time revise these terms and conditions by updating this posting.
